How do we find you?
Directions to Craighead Howfs, Perthshire, Scotland
Important Note for Sat Nav Users: If using a Sat Nav, please note it may incorrectly direct you to “The Coupans,” which is not our location. This is about a quarter of a mile north of our actual turning. Once you are nearby, follow the directions below. Our entrance is clearly signposted “Craighead” and “Tamano.”
Coming from the South: Bypass Dunblane on the A9 and take the left-hand turn signposted to Kinbuck and Dunblane on the B8033. Continue through Kinbuck, cross the narrow bridge, and proceed straight for another two miles. You will descend a gentle hill with a bend at the bottom. Turn left here at the signpost for “Craighead” and “Tamano.” Drive up the lane; we are the first turning on the right past the pond.
- For all Glamping: Drive up the short hill, follow the lane round to the right in front of the glazed gable windows, and you will see the car park on your right.
- For the Muckle Howf: You will see it facing you as you drive up the short hill. To park, drive straight on to the left of the glazed gable end where you will find parking.
Coming from the North: Leave the A9 at Greenloaning, signposted to Braco and Crieff on the A822. At the junction at the bottom of the road, turn right for Braco. Enter the village of Braco and take the second turn on the left after the only shop (Braco Shop) onto Feddal Road B8033. Continue along this road, passing the Bowling Club on the left and over the bridge. After approximately two miles, you will pass a white bungalow on the left. About a hundred yards further, on the right-hand side, you will see the signpost for “Craighead” and “Tamano.” Turn right up the lane; we are the first turning on the right past the pond.

What do we need to bring?
A torch, suitable footwear, and anything else to make your stay comfortable!
What time is check-in at Craighead Howf?
Check-in is from 3 PM onwards. When you arrive, park in the glamping car park and check the notice board. It will have all the details you need to find your key and accommodation.
Can we invite friends to visit us?
To maintain privacy and tranquillity, Craighead Howf is exclusively for guests. Visitors are not permitted—thank you for your understanding!
What is there to do in the area?

Where are the nearest restaurants and shops?
You’ll find a variety of restaurants, takeaways, and shops in Dunblane and Bridge of Allan, just 4 to 7 miles away. Whether you’re after a cosy meal or a quick bite, there are plenty of great options.
Do you allow pets at Craighead Howf?
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted to protect our resident farm animals and wildlife. However, we understand the importance of assistance dogs—please contact us in advance so we can try to accommodate your needs.
Can I get to Craighead Howf without a car?
Yes! You can take a train or bus to Dunblane and then walk, cycle, or get a taxi to us—about 4 miles away.
Can I book more than one property?
To maintain a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, we do not accept group bookings, including hen/stag parties or multiple-unit reservations, even in the Muckle Howf.
Is there a fridge freezer available?
Yes! All glamping guests have access to a shared fridge freezer, plus cool boxes if needed.
Can we charge phones and laptops?
Yes, a charging point will be shown to you upon arrival.
Is firewood provided?
Yes, we provide enough wood for your stay. If you need extra, it’s available for purchase in our on-site shop.
What are the cooking facilities?
Each glamping unit has at least a two-ring gas hob and an outdoor BBQ/fire pit.
Can we play music outside?
Yes, but please keep the volume low. Sound travels far in the countryside, and most guests visit Craighead Howf for peace and quiet.
Is there Wi-Fi at Craighead Howf?
Wi-Fi is available only in the Muckle Howf, encouraging guests to disconnect and unwind.
Is mobile phone reception good?
Yes, mobile reception is strong across Craighead Howf.
Can we park right next to our glamping unit?
No, to preserve the natural beauty of the site, we have a dedicated car park for guests. The approximate walking distances from the car park to each unit are:
- Summer Howf – 130m
- Tree Howf – 75m
- Wee Howf – 130m
- The Red Burrow – 200m
- The Green Burrow – 225m
Are there good walks nearby?
Absolutely! There are many scenic walking trails in the area. Let us know your preferred distance and difficulty level, and we’ll recommend the best routes when you arrive.
