It was our first extraordinary creation in 2014 and has since evolved into a Swiss Family Robinson-style treehouse. Perched above a tumbling burn and beside a tranquil lochan, it offers an unforgettable escape. This peaceful haven is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. To enhance your stay, why not soak in the Ofuru wood-fired hot tub by the lochan? This is available for an additional charge of £30 per night.

Despite its name, the Wee Tree Howf offers plenty of space for a romantic glamping experience. Crafted by Ian and Lewis, this treehouse is filled with quirky design features and stunning woodwork. The pond views add to its appeal, making it a truly special retreat. Inside, the wood-burning stove keeps you warm and cosy. Meanwhile, the pulley fridge basket in the burn ensures your drinks stay chilled, ready for a relaxed evening by the fire.

- Private shower, compost toilet, wash hand basin in adjacent cabin
- During winter months and whenever weather falls to freezing the water is turned off – you have full use of the facilities within the wash howf.

- Access to grounds and gardens and to visit the animals and wander along the path past the Ash Tree Howf down to the Hobbits. Wander past the Whisky Howf and up to the top of the garden by the Summer Howf and past the Wee Shop

A Storybook Hideaway
A narrow wooden staircase leads to the elevated bedroom, where breathtaking views await. Just across the small bridge over the burn, you’ll find a private compost toilet and a spacious shower, adding to the unique experience of this treetop stay.
Evenings Under the Stars
As the evening sets in, gather around the fire pit and let nature provide the perfect soundtrack. The gentle bubbling of the burn, the rustling leaves, and the distant call of an owl create an atmospheric retreat. Inside, the wood-burning stove ensures warmth and comfort. For extra relaxation, soak in the slipper bath and unwind.
Outside, the barbecue and open fire area by the lochan invite you to savour a meal under the stars. And for a special touch, use the pulley system to retrieve a perfectly chilled drink from the ‘fridge in the burn’. As you sip your wine or beer, take in the stunning views and watch fish leap from the water.

Beyond the Wee Tree Howf, the Craighead Howf grounds offer two acres of gardens to explore. You’ll meet a variety of friendly animals, including our Highland cows, alpacas, pygmy goats, ducks, geese, and more. If you’re feeling adventurous, venture into the Perthshire countryside for walking trails, wildlife spotting, and breathtaking scenery.
What You Need to Bring
To enjoy your glamping escape, bring a few essentials. Slippers will keep you comfortable indoors, and a torch is useful for moving around after dark. A camera is a must to capture the stunning views. Don’t forget your food and drinks to make the most of fireside dining. If you want to add a special touch, bring a bottle of bubbly to toast your unique treehouse getaway.
Children & Pets
The Wee Tree Howf is an adult-only retreat, designed for peace and tranquillity. To protect our resident farm animals, pets are not allowed. However, we understand that assistance dogs provide essential support. Please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
