Nestled in the scenic countryside of Perthshire, Scotland, the Wee Tree Howf at Craighead Howf offers a unique glamping experience. Whether you’re seeking a whimsical escape or a peaceful retreat, the Wee Tree Howf provides the perfect blend of rustic charm and comfort.
The bedroom, accessed via a narrow wooden staircase, takes you into a storybook land with amazing views. Your private compost toilet and spacious shower are just two steps across the bridge over the burn, adding to the unique charm of your stay.
As dusk falls, settle by the fire pit and enjoy the soothing sounds of birds settling for the night while the burn softly bubbles below. Inside, the wood-burning stove keeps the Wee Howf warm and cosy, whether you’re relaxing by the fire or unwinding in the slipper bath. Outside, sit by the open fire and savour a barbecue by the lochan. You can even use the pulley to retrieve a bottle of wine or beer from the ‘fridge in the burn’ and enjoy the stunning views of the Ochils or watch the fish leap from the water.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area during the day, but if you prefer to stay close, you can explore and enjoy the two acres of grounds and gardens at Craighead Howf, offering a peaceful and idyllic setting. As you wander through the grounds, you’ll encounter a host of wildlife, including our pony, Soay sheep, Swiss Valley Blacknose sheep, and Shropshire sheep. You’ll also come across rheas, peafowl, fantails, turkeys, guinea fowl, hens, ducks, two alpacas, pygmy goats, geese, cats, and our two Highland cows are happy to pose for photo opportunities.
Slippers are essential, along with a torch, camera, food, and drinks. Don’t forget that bottle of bubbly and, of course, time to just sit and enjoy this amazing place “where time stands still”!
