Owen L31 August 2024Utterly bonkers, totally amazing ! We stayed in the Green Burrow, truly wonderful environment, away from it all but still in easy reach of civilisation, my wife did not know where we were staying and the look on her face when we got to our little home for two nights was something special. Thank you for creating this amazing place - strongly recommended for a unique experience - we'll be back ............. ps - eggs from the Wee Shop are a must try item !Nicola C11 August 2024Perfect place to get away and relax What a place!! Lovely part of Scotland. It was our anniversary weekend. We stayed in the Summer Howf and could not have asked for more. The hot tub was lovely and no problems collecting keys etc, we just followed the instructions on the email and the notice board. Heather even offered to light our stove, as we were rubbish at keeping it going. There is a well stocked honesty shop. Bearing in mind this is someone's home we are using, we had privacy,it was quiet and 100% worth the price, we will hopefully be back.Alisha M27 July 2024Horrible Experience! Not worth a pennie! After having to email where to collect our keys after arriving about 7ish we finally found the keys ourself with no help and no reply to our email ! Also we arrived at our accommodation and paid extra for the hot tub which wasn’t even ready with logs 🪵 so couldn’t even go in it! Also the mattress on the bed was terrible it was so uncomfortable to lie on and was awake all night sore and got up the next day with my partner having a sore neck and the bottom of my back was in agony! It was like sleeping on a floor for the night! The so called toilet was something else. So after being offered an alternative accommodation and told the toilet and shower was outside the new accommodation we hesitated and decided to leave ! It is definitely not worth the amount for this accommodation for what they are asking for it!! Also the owner is very rude and not willing to help! Please have a hard think before you book cause if you complain like ourselves and ask to be refunded it won’t happen! The owner was so rude and unhelpful in the end and didn’t understand our concerns and refused a refund because he wasn’t happy we left the property with so much complaints only because he said he hasn’t ever had complaints like it! All I will say is AVOID!! Save your money and go somewhere else!Solene4 July 2024Bag end Howf Amazing hidden place, we chose the bag end howf (Hobbit). The site is big with other small howfs, animals and nature. Perfect for couples or with a friend. The howf was clean, with little easter eggs, everything we needed to cook, bed was comfortable. Had to get use to the toilet but we got the hang of it after a while. Loved the little honesty shop as well and not far from a little city by car f you want to get more groceries. It can get very cold even in summer so I was really glad to have the wood stove and two warm blankets! I absolutely recommend for an immersive break in nature and if you're a fan of the Hobbit!Jackie A13 May 2024One of the best experiences ever ❤️ Stayed at Bagend Hobbit Hoose. What an experience. This is a must for LOTR fans. Even if you're not a fan I'd be amazed if you didn't find this whole experience amazing. The walks were beautiful and the variety of animals fab. Honesty shop has loads of choice. The only problem is what Howf to try next xxxKatherine L17 February 2024Tied for the #1 highlight of or Scotland tour The cottages at Craighead Howf are like stepping inside your favorite dreams! We stayed in the hobbit holes and they were perfectly appointed and just the right size and ambience for a couple of nights during our Scotland tour. The bath was glorious, the bed comfy, the kitchenette easy to use with all necessary tools & cookware. There is a wee shop onsite if your forget or run out of certain essentials. The entire farm is a place of tranquility and beauty as far as the eye can see. I wish we had more days there and I wish I could go back tomorrow. Heather and Ian are the kindest most accommodating hosts ever. Just a delight in every single way. Please note, while there is hot & cold running water and overhead lights, it is Glamping after all, so there are no outlets…if you require power either for a CPAP machine or whatever, bring a battery pack that can handle it.Alyson K30 October 2023Wonderful we have just returned from a stay at the Burrow and if ever there was a place that was so good for mind, body & soul then this is it. From the minute you arrive you feel at peace. The red burrow was full of surprises and the attention to detail was outstanding. Truly a magical place and the craftsmanship was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful time, we will be backTim D15 October 2023Absolutely wonderful We stayed in the Whisky Howf for two nights. It is a beautiful drive up to accommodation and clear self service instructions await guests on arrival. The accommodation was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. Lovely little touches like a small bottle of prosecco and chocolates on the bed were a nice surprise. The accommodation itself was a good size for a couple and contained everything one would require for a self catering stay. The Howf itself is absolutely gorgeous inside and filled us both with a magical warmth. Being October the Howf gets rather chilly but the log burning stove supplies an excellent heat once it's on the go. This was set for us arriving and very simple to light. We also loved visiting the wee honesty shop they have onsite. It's filled with essentials as well as fresh eggs from their own ducks, chickens and guinea fowls.Overall a wonderful experience and one we cannot wait to repeat again. Absolutely magical!aflices27 September 2023Wonderful Stay We stayed in the Green Burrow in September 2023 for 2 nights as a couple. We booked this howf as we are Lord of the Rings fans and wanted a peaceful escape in the countryside. There were loads of cute nods to the LOTR films but I won't spoil these for others. We also chose the green burrow as it's at the end of the path, tucked away from the rest of the accommodation site. We felt very comfortable in our howf, with a comfy bed and everything else that we needed for our stay, like a log burner, gas stove, crockery, bath with shower head, etc. Pretty sure Bilbo would be happy here. :) The toilet was in a room right next door to the main living area, which was a bit annoying having to go outside to go next door to the loo, and it was a compost toilet, however, it was fine overall - we got used to it. We loved all of the cool animals on the farm. The Wee Shop sold fresh farm eggs. We bought some guinea fowl and duck eggs for breakfast and they were delicious. We would love to return one day in the future for another special stay. Thank you to the team at Craighead for providing such a fantastic and unique experience so close to home.Helen B14 August 2023You will never want to stay anywhere else once you have stayed at the Burrow We stayed in the Green Burrow for our honeymoon after a Lotr themed wedding so you can imagine how excited we were to find this little gem of a place right next to some of my favourite landmarks in Perthshire! Wow, is all I can say- what a fantastic place to go. When we arrived everything was ready for us, really well organised and it was clear where to find what we needed. Parking is a short walk from the burrow but we were provided with wheelbarrows to get to the venue which just really added to the fun feel of the place. The site itself was lovely and tranquil, it is really well kept and very clear to see the owners put their heart and soul into keeping the place magical and quiet for everyone to enjoy. There is a very friendly cat as well that isn't allowed into the burrow, so we enjoyed many evenings sat outside giving her lots of attention- if the burrow doesn't completely win your heart over the farm will! It was amazing and I would recommend this to everyone. Ian and Heather are really friendly and lovely, they're so considerate too when they needed to service the room they gave advance notice with options of where to leave things if we didn't want to be disturbed, and to let us know to expect them too. The wooden mice where a really fun little touch, we loved trying to find them all and count how many there were. The wee shop as well has everything you might need (including plasters which came in handy from the many walks we did during the week!) I don't think you will find a better place to stay in Scotland than here, we were never bored, even when there was nothing to do, just being outside in the quiet and watching the Sun go down behind the hill from the garden table with a cup of tea and a cat sat on your lap was amazing. We can't wait to go back, and are already saving for our next stay. Thank you so much Ian and HeatherLoad more
