The Burrow Facilities
- Traditionally built from stone and wood, with nooks and crannies.
- Delightful 200 m walk from the car park to the Round Door Howfs with your own wheel barrow to transport luggage

- The Green Burrow has a slipper bath with hand held shower whilst The Red Burrow has a hobbit style shower, both have adjacent hand-carved wooden wash hand basins
- Toilet- designer eco friendly compost toilet in its own ‘wee’ howf next door, with hand carved wooden wash hand basin.
- Fire pit/ BBQ
- Recycling facilities in the car park area
- Access to fridge and freezer adjacent to car park, cool box and ice packs available

Evening Activities
In the evening, sit outside and take in the stunning views of the Ochils while watching the beautiful horses roam. Test your culinary skills on the BBQ and enjoy your meal al fresco. You’ll be treated to a variety of birds, including regular sightings of Red Kites flying overhead, and you’ll encounter a host of wildlife. Among them are our pony, Soay sheep, Swiss Valley Blacknose sheep, and Shropshire sheep, along with rheas, peafowl, fantails, turkeys, guinea fowl, hens, ducks, two alpacas, pygmy goats, geese, cats, and our two Highland cows who are happy to pose for photo opportunities.
Exploring the Grounds
There is plenty to do in the area during the day, but if you prefer to stay close, you can simply enjoy the two acres of grounds and gardens at Craighead Howf. The idyllic setting provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and exploration.
What to Bring
For your stay at the Round Door Burrows, slippers are a must. Be sure to pack a torch, camera, food, and drinks, including that special bottle of bubbly. And most importantly, bring time to sit back and enjoy this unique experience set in your own slice of the shire!

Please note: The Round Door Burrows are not suitable for children. Additionally, We’re sorry, but pets are not allowed at Craighead Howf. This policy is in place to protect the wildlife and livestock on the farm and to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests. Thank you for your understanding!
